What is industrial IoT?
The Internet of Things connects physical devices with software and networks. Industrial IoT, often called IIoT, applies connected information to equipment and operations: for example a machine state, a production count or a meter reading.
The useful result is not connection for its own sake. It is information that helps someone answer a specific operational question. A workshop might want to know when a machine stopped; another business might need to compare energy use across shifts.

A sensible scope identifies the machine, signals, users, network requirements and a way to check that the information is reliable. Compatibility and usefulness should be established before expanding.
